The ACT plays a crucial role in college admissions, scholarship opportunities, and demonstrating academic readiness for higher education. The ACT is also connected to VU Scholarships, which is a platform that connects students to scholarship offers from hundreds of partner universities instantaneously. ACT scores can also act as prerequisites for dual credit classes here at the high school.
Although the ACT serves as a great opportunity for all junior students to see where they're at academically, we understand that this may not be the right choice for every student. For parents and guardians who wish to opt their child out of this free testing session an opt out form will be sent out to parents and guardians via IC Messenger towards the end of January.
A make-up testing date will be scheduled for the following week and will be communicated with students who miss the testing date due to an excused absence.
Students with IEPs, 504s, or ILPs may be eligible to receive accommodations on the ACT. Counselors will be in contact with students and parents/guardians regarding the ACT approval process, but questions regarding accommodations for the ACT at VCHS can be sent to Mrs. Dantzson.
